TBH the fact that you were late in signing up for a spot conveys your level of interest/enthusiasm. If you were really gung ho, you would have signed up when the slots opened.

Yes, not having an interview hurts the application.

I would still ask about it, nicely. It shows that you are interested, which never hurts.

Their website was updated saying after Dec 15 there would be no more slots. They usually mean it when they say no - to the masses - but they are also known to bend the rules for others behind the scenes. (This will continue even after a family is accepted - so get used to it now). Not sure if/how it affects your child's admissions chances.

This is good advice. I'd reach out and ask about scheduling a visit. you have nothing to lose. Remember--schools want applicants that want them so expressing interest is never bad if it's done respectfully.

They are constricted by the zoning code and occupancy limits.

You misunderstood. OP is asking about spots for applicant visits, not spots for students. As PPs have said, the admissions office should open additional student visit spots to accommodate all who have applied by their applicant deadline.

Do you think that will happen?

Yes, definitely. They want to meet your child too.

Probably yes unless your kid stands out in some way--minority, super athlete, etc. otherwise your kid will just be another "good grades/test scores and good recs" kid among dozens.

I agree, thanks for the honesty.

we just finished our application and all the school visits are taken. does that deter your chance of admission as they do not get to see your child? any advice for this parent?
