I don’t know if hire your own is cheaper. It’s $50 at NextStars for 2-3 hrs.

The cheapest personal trainer I heard of is $50 per hour and this is college player making extra cash.

Found a very good older player and we did it with a teammate friend. Each paid $25 a session a few years ago. Twice a week in the summer. Once a week other times. Worked around everyone schedules. Paid was good enough so she made it a priority over pretty much everything else. Girls got noticeably better rather quickly. 90 minute sessions with 2 kids. You can get a ton done and they had fun. You work on things in practice maybe 10 times. In one 90 minute session they could do a 100 reps and actually get decent.

That was many years ago and the girls still exchange birthday and holiday messages with their “instructor”.

Coach here,

I can't comment about the companies mentioned here, but I would agree with this persons assessment. That being said your mileage may vary depending on the trainer, and how well your child does in isolated or very small groups (2-3 players). Some kids don't have the attention span or patience, and don't enjoy the sessions. That being said, if you can afford it, individual training is the way to go.

All players training at NextStar aren't good or top players. That's a gross exaggeration.

The Futbol Lab group that trains at SoFive is probably the only training group that can make the claim of all good players.

I think how good the kids are anecdotal, not NextStar making the claim. I’m OP and that is my kids assessment. Of course they can’t be all good as I’m pretty sure they are open to all levels.

I have heard of Futbol Lab and have thought of trying them out. Does Futbol Lab screen participants and require a certain level of skill or experience?

No they don't and they also have some average players depending on the session. They are not as consistent as nextstar as nextstar operates everyday often with multiple sessions. Coaches are from paragon and you can see more on instagram. If your child is older it may work. If your child is younger passionsports would be a better option.

They are on social media. But we learned of them through referrals. They don’t seem to do much advertising outside of social media.

If the training environment is as you describe, why are you looking elsewhere?

Scheduling and distance. Traffic during the week makes their locations a time suck to get to.

Next star is great because all of the players are so good but it is hard to schedule.

My kids have gone to NextStar trainings sporadically. The main attraction for my kids is that the other kids who attend are for the most part, high level player or have better technical skills, so the training moves quicker and kids are more intense/competitive.

Can anymore recommend any similar kind of trainings in the area? Trying to find a few options always available to fit into every changing family schedules.

Thank you!
