“Once loved” is an interesting way to phrase it..I just don’t think I’ll ever get over them. I loved them then and I always will even if they’re not around.

No. I remember even the one I had a crush on when I was 12. Not his name or anything, just the fact he exists.

Isn't this a given now? Even if you love someone and have a great relationship, people suggest to break off just to play the field more, even if you end up never finding a good relationship.

What do you mean forget? If someone says, hey, remember Larlo? I’m not going to say, Larlo who? I was very in love with him and lived with for 4 years in 2 different states. I was devastated when the relationship ended. Of course I haven’t forgotten him. But do I think about him? Once or twice a year, maybe, and then usually only if something comes up that reminds me of him somehow. He doesn’t just come to mind.

I had 3 significant relationships before I met my husband and my HS boyfriend is the only one I think of out of the blue sometimes. I credit the poignancy of adolescence for that.

Same.

Same. I was in a seven year relationship that ended badly (otherwise was a good relationship, I was just unsure about marriage and then he turned on me in a horrible way). I don’t think about him much, if at all and I feel no emotion whatsoever. My FWB from our early 20s, I think about fondly. We were actually friends but were almost never in the same place at the same time…

Depends on the person and situation. I think we choose to forget some people.

I didn’t want to be apart from some but I’ll never forget the ones I loved and hold dear.

Absolutely

My answer is no, except I am wondering exactly what you mean by “forget.” You can think of them fondly but no longer love or want to be with them.

It depends on why it ended for me. If it ended badly I can forget and move on. If it ended bc of circumstances I often think of them wistfully.
