I’m surprised by middlebury. I’d check in with LOR writers.

Tufts has the wilderness campus in NH which a ton of students use.

I love McGill and like Toronto, but neither is remotely rural. For a Canadian option similar to Midd, check out Mt. Allison. Also Bishop's if his French is decent.

1470 is not going to work for Emory or Tufts and you may be in for a repeat of the Middlebury rejection. Is the GPA high enough for a TO application?

Only 37% of those enrolled at Tufts submitted scores. 1460 was the 25th percentile, so 1470 would be fine. Or TO is fine.

For Emory, 41% submitted and the 25th percentile was 1450.

And for Middlebury, the 25th percentile was 1420.

As long as your kid is above the 25th percentile, submitting a score is fine. And going TO is fine as well.

ED at Middlebury - rejected. 1470, 4.0 from well known public NYC magnet in the arts. ECs all music, groups, bands etc.

Options as we see it: ED2 to Tufts, maybe Emory. Would that be a waste. Or EA to U. Toronto or McGill.
