I'm still using my 12 mini. I will upgrade to the 13 mini soon, but then I'm stuck, because I don't like the SE.

My 16 year old got a new 12. It’s his first phone that is new out of the box, rather than hand me down, but he’s had an iPhone of some sort since middle school.

Ours didn’t get one, neither did their (closest) friends. Luckily we are on the same page, by coincidence, as their friends and an to wait until summer after 8th grade

Mine got hers this summer for her birthday when she turned 11. It’s an IPhone SE.
not the latest model but it works just fine.
