Fair Oaks starts with 8U at 8am.

Oakton starts the day with 8U practice (7:30 am), but that pool has a very long wait-list.

I would take early morning to be before work, and that is not happening at most pools either. our 7Yo practice at 10a. I realize that this may vary, but most likely staring at 8 at the latest. our pool does offer evening practices, but we are not in her target area

And get on a waitlist now if you think you'll stay nearby, he'll only be 12 in 5 years, and maybe some are less.

If you were in Centreville, Burke, Fairfax tons of pools with no wait, but not many have evening swim team.

and there are plenty of pools with openings. Some areas like Vienna and McLean, Arlington are harder- but many others. Where specifically do you live ? Not address but general area, not just a city

OP, check out the below link which has a list of all the pools in NVSL and their city/zip along with a map. This way you can narrow down the pools you may be interested based on location and start reaching out to see if any are taking new families for summer 2024/which ones have the shortest wait list.

I agree with this poster, the chances of finding a spot for this Summer are going to be slim to none. Find out where the friends are swimming and get on the waitlist asap.

You have to join a pool first. Call around and see which pools in the area have membership openings. Some pools also do rentals.

I am looking for summer swim for DS7 in the Vienna, Fairfax, Oakton area that has swim practice in the afternoon/evening or early morning due to work. Son is currently on a swim team and swims in meets, but that will end in April/May. We are not assigned to any private pool because we rent an apartment. Please help me figure out the best way to find one. Prefer Vienna area due to friends, but most pools have 5+ year waits.
