This is correct. The recovery area allows younger children, unless flu levels reach a certain number. It’s not published and all the front desk people at the L&D check in know the rule. Just ask there.

Every time I was told it was because of flu season. It didn't really matter to me, baby came home 3 days later from the NICU. Now that I have young kids that bring home the absolutely worst respiratory illness but have no symptoms themselves I get it.

The max you will be there is 48 hours. Your 5yr old can wait that long

That's so crazy. I've never been allowed to have kids at the hospital, as I said, in 14 years of having babies in this area.

I know a lot of hospitals are going back to that policy, Will you stay a couple days?
