I don’t think you have to revamp your diet with WW. In fact, the whole point of it is to not cut any major food groups out of your diet. It may take a couple of weeks to figure out what you can eat to help keep you full and not blow all your points. I do tend to eat the same breakfast and snacks on WW. I vary my lunch and dinner a little, but I can feed the family and myself with just a few modifications. For example I’ll make black bean burritos for them and have the black beans and fixings on a salad while they have tortillas, and I’ll eyeballs the guac so I’m not constantly measuring. I do like ff plain yogurt and eggs and beans and tofu so that helps.

When I am dieting I find it’s easiest just to try for low carb and sugar. Avoiding most potatoes, rice, pasta and sweets is the easiest rule to remember. Then if you have a cookie at night, it won’t be on top of a whole day of bad eating.

"French Women Don't Get Fat" has an approach that might work for you in terms of portion sizes and still enjoying food.
The other thing is maybe find a non-food reward at the end of the day. A hobby or something that occupies you that can replace the cookies.

Weight loss while trying for another child and caring for the two existing ones sounds really hard. Maybe this isn’t the best time for this? If you fail, you’ll just feel worse about yourself and that will carry over to your next attempt at weight loss.

Try E2M Fitness. It has worked miracles for me, as I've lost 50 pounds eating low carb delicious meals. I exercise 6 days a week, and have strengthened my core. E2Mfitness.com.

Check it out. This is anonymous posting so I do not gain anything from sharing a program that has helped me tremendously and is better than many other places I've tried.

WW doesn’t have to be an overnight change. Start by trying to get within 5 or even 10 points of your goal. The next week, try to get within 3 points.

Or, meet your points goal three days a week and the rest of the week track points but let yourself go over. The next week, meet your goal 4 days.

It’s not as hard as it seems. I just went through Chick-fil-A drive thru with kids and stayed under my points budget for lunch. Last night I had an almost 0 point dinner, lemon broiled mahi, roasted veg, sautéed spinach. I used pre-cut veg, and a seasoning blend, so the whole meal took me about 20 minutes. Fish cooked in 4 min per side under broiler, veggies in 15 min at 375, spinach in 10 min bc I also sautéed onions to go in. Easy peasy.

Serious meal planning sounds like it could really help you. You are obviously busy with young children and probably find yourself snacking here and there on what's nearby. Buy some Tupperware and plan out 1500 calorie per day meal plans so you can keep track. If you want to combine it with intermittent fasting, that can help speed it up. Get a Stanley cup for water, drink lots of hot tea, get your steps in and try some toning exercises when you have time.

I’m an advocate of intermittent fasting, because that is the simplest system for me to maintain. Don’t eat before 11 am. Don’t eat after 5 pm. I can eat pretty much anything I want in that window (I don’t eat junk, though I do have a small treat or dessert daily). It’s not a quick weight loss solution, but a lifestyle change. You can shift the eating window to one that works around your family’s schedule.

I think noom might work for you. You know what you need to do but haven’t been able to shift mindset and emotions around eating. I haven’t done noom but two friend who have found it useful for losing weight and building better habits.

You know what you need to do to lose weight. There is no way to make it easier. It’s all on you.

Maybe you need to prioritize weight loss in light of your mental health and your major injury. Bc being overweight would seem to make those two worse.

Just try tracking everything you eat in an app like my fitness pal for a few weeks. You might find you eat less just from being confronted with the amount of calories in ten cookies, without trying for a particular goal. You'll realize thats a couple of meals worth and it's not worth it.

My second child is 2.5 and I’m still carrying weight from the birth/postpartum period. I’m about 20 pounds overweight and about 25 pounds over my pre pregnancy weight. Currently trying to conceive a third and final child.

Before children I was always a healthy weight, though I fluctuated all over the healthy range. Whenever my weight inched too high, I had great success with losing weight with Weight Watchers. But whenever that happened, it always was my top priority to lose the weight.

Well, now losing weight just quite frankly isn’t my top priority. I’ve got two children to raise and a household to maintain. My mental health is a higher priority (I had PPD and staying mental healthy is crucial obviously). Keeping my body fully functional is a higher priority (I had a major injury when my second was an infant that took months to come back from, so I take exercise very seriously).

My eating habits are, frankly, atrocious. I have a huge sweet tooth that I’ve been indulging big time these last 2.5 years. Tons of sweets. My portion size is obscene. I don’t eat nearly enough fruits and veggies.

But Weight Watchers requires the kind of dedication that I just don’t think I have. Counting points, completely revamping my diet overnight, careful shopping and portion control, and just generally summoning the willpower to skip the brownies all seem out of reach. I also don’t need (or want!) to lose 2 pounds a week. Honestly, I’d be happy with 2 pounds a month. But I tend to be a black and white thinker, and so I tend to either be carefully counting and tracking points or eating 10 cookies in a sitting. I’d love to eat like… 2 cookies. But I’m struggling to find moderation. I’m also definitely an emotional eater, and tend to, explicitly or implicitly, say “wow made it through a whole day with a toddler and a preschooler! I deserve cookies!”

I need to find a middle ground here.

I’m not looking for tips - I’m actually looking for an approach or source of information that might work for me. Book, system, blog, website, approach… that I could dive in on. Any suggestions?
