But I don't bother with them on vacation. I want to explore the city/hike the trails/see the landmarks and sights. Not be in a stuffy room looking at boring artifacts and reading placards all day. Maybe on a day when it's pouring rain and there's nothing else to do, MAYBE.
I also don't like hefty admission fees.
Maybe this is all because I am spoiled by being born/raised here, where we have free access to some of the best museums around. I definitely don't mind popping in at the Natural History museum here, and checking out an exhibit or do and then bouncing. But I also don't feel like I need to get my money's worth here because it's free. If I were to pay admission for some science museum somewhere else, well, I'm going to get my money's worth.
Anyway, just rambling. Anyone else skip museums on trips?
