We did a cheery yellow, but that one is just a bit too much. The room was done in primary colors with white furniture. And you will need to repaint all the rooms before you sell, so don’t worry about that part.

I’d go with some wallpaper that has yellow in it and make a statement piece of furniture that is yellow.

I had an office painted in yellow but much, much paler than this! It was bright and cheerful and sunny so it can work. This is too intense and overwhelming. It looks like something from the 1970s.

Just paint over it before you move. Your kids are old enough to have a say in decorating their room though.

Personally that bold of a yellow gives me a major headache.

Urgh. No. But if your kids like it, that's what matters, OP. Ignore resale talk - you need to be happy in your own home. I decorated exactly as I wanted, and don't care about resale value at all.

It’s your home and if this makes you happy go for it. Worst comes to worst when you resell offer a paint credit or repaint just before you sell.

Can you use decals and bedding instead? Yellow is actually a depressing color, although the bright ones doesn't seem I guess that's what studies say

Ech. Would never do yellow, and especially not that degree of yellow. If I looked at a home with that on the walls I would wonder how many layers of paint and how much work it would take to cover it up.

Op here. I am seeking to know if yellow paint like I saw in the article I read, is a color to avoid. Apparently property brothers say red and yellow. Also- Would you not paint a room yellow? Is it too bright or energizing to you?

I absolutely adore those very bright yellow shades and think they brighten the room and my mood. We have an interior townhome so not an end unit.

Now I read yellow is not advised for resale but we are buying new and not planning to move for another 4+ years when the eldest child goes to college. This vibrant share for the room is for the two youngest who would be 9 and 5.
