As someone who just paid a similar price for a fanny pack (sorry, a "belt bag") for an 11 year old, I can relate.

I do not know why straw toppers/ covers do not come with the cup.

The handle doesn’t fit into the net compartment of the bookbag.

I got them for $25 on Black Friday.

They are all the rage in my 11yr old’s 5th gr class. She may be the only or one of the only kids that doesn’t have one. She doesn’t ask for one and I think it’s kinda cool. She said the kids freak out of there is a scratch on their Stanley, etc.

Maybe tell your 12 yr old it’s even cooler to be different and not like the rest of the kids.

Yes I’m amused at the status of sippy (drippy) cups but DD was so excited when I finally got her one so it was worth it to me.
I still find it crazy people can’t leave the house without a bottle in one hand and a phone in the other. When I was a kid if you got thirsty you looked around for a water fountain. The only people silly enough to buy a bottle of water were those 🙃 Europeans.

It’s no different than the overpriced Benetton or Esprit piece of clothing I wanted when I was 12. If you have the money, it’s harmless and actually useful. I love my Stanley. If you don’t, don’t buy the knock off. That’s what I would have gotten and it’s worse than not getting it.

DD wants a 40oz Stanley Quencher cup but I refuse to pay $$$ for it. What’s the fascination/ big deal? Are they worth it? Target even had a new colors drop this week. Extra accessories to go along with cup adds $$$ up quickly. I will more than likely get it but… ugh
