OP. Also interested in this. My SILs photos were taken in South Korea. My BIL is wearing a tux, and you can see he is not wearing socks with the dress shoes. It almost makes me think they have clothes/shoes there (at the studio) that people pick out? Although I guess anyone would have the option of buying all new clothes, right?
You can also go to historic or even scenic sites in South Korea and rent Hangbok for the day just to stroll around in. It’s a thing!
I grew up in the 80s and 90s in the Midwest, and my friends from summer programs who were from southern CA used to take formal photos as a fun weekend activity. It was a big thing in Korean-American and Taiwanese-American friend groups to do portrait studio photos in coordinated outfits. My friend photos were just disposable camera prints and I was so envious!
