Thanks everyone! I took DD and her friends to Unique, and they each found something to buy. It’s quite an experience. I found some great things like Heath ceramics and Barbara Barry decor, in case anyone’s interested in the home goods.

We also like Plato's Closet but we wouldn't make a special trip there, only if we are in the area as it isn't really close to NWDC.

My teen likes Goodwill and Plato’s Closet. She hasn’t had much luck at all at Unique.

DD and her friends love 2A in Alexandria.

THere's a large Salvation Army store in Annendale. Might be too far but it's a good size and the stuff's pretty well laid out.

I have not been here but I know from other moms their teens like it. It is consignment so maybe not as cheap as good will but in demand brands.

Plato’s closet has a few locations. They specialize in trendy tween clothes. It’s a but more expensive, but a better experience. We went to unique/value village in silver spring yesterday, and the place on georgia avenue (forget the name). Got a few things, but overall it’s depressing/dingy and hit or miss.

I echo Unique but set their expectations going in that is very unlikely to be one of those tiktok thrift hauls they see where they walk away with tons of recent brand name stuff for $1.99 each. They’ll be lucky to find two things each and may be way too overwhelmed to have the patience even for that.

Unique sounds like a good option; mine like Value Village just outside of College Park.

Where should I take tween DD and her girlfriends thrift-shopping? This is mostly for clothes, maybe a few knick knacks. We live in upper NW DC. Looking for good selection and not too far.
