This is not being consistently implemented. My school said as few as four practice/prep is fine.

Also from that same document, it’s prohibited to have an assignment count for more than 25% of the grade for the marking period (see clause 8e).

I tried to do a search but couldn't find a thread. How many assignments and practice homework are teachers required to post each quarter in high school? My son is in a semester elective class, and the teacher has only posted two assignments to date that only total 15 points (no practice homework). My son told me that there is another assignment graded that hasn't been updated in studentvue and the class just finished a project worth 40 points. My son is worried that there will not be enough points to raise his grade to an A (he is a junior)--currently a B-- by the end of the quarter. Last quarter, he earned a B (88%), and there were only 6 assignments and 1 practice in the grade book. He lost points in an assignment that made up almost 50% of the final grade for the quarter.

He usually handles issues with the teacher himself, but he's not sure what to do. He likes the teacher (and the class) and doesn't want to complain. Should I encourage him to email the department chair/lead teacher or contact his counselor to contact the teacher? He's worried that the teacher will find out it is from him.
