Wake Forest if you want a slightly bigger school (around 5400 students) with power 5 sports. Class sizes never more than 50 students even as freshman in STEM or business, and most significantly smaller.

I have no personal experience, so I'm sure people will correct me if I'm wrong, but Colgate seems to have that vibe. Maybe W&L? CMC if you want an West Coast option.

Union.

DS was recruited to play football and lax there, but that culture is what turned him off. He went elsewhere. If this is what your kid is looking for, he will love it.

I.e. not Oberlin (where I went).
