I don’t know anything about the Audi but I have bought two used LEAFs (1st gen and 2nd gen) and am very happy with them.

Electric cars depreciate quickly. As a starter, electric cars depreciate by $7500 the instant they drive off the lot due the federal tax credit. Also, electric car technology is rapidly evolving with new cars and features coming to market. Teslas have been bottoming out in price so that a new model is much less than ones from a couple of years ago.

The Audi e-tron is known as a terribly unreliable car that people don't want to own off warranty due to high maintenance costs.

I have an Audi etron PHEV - six years old. It was a dealer general manager car so purchased it with 2000 miles on the odometer.

Luxury cars depreciate quickly. We have had mulitple Audi's and always buy them when they have 18 months or longer of the original warranty and then we also buy the certified pre owned warranty (we tend to keep our Audi's for 5-7 years).

If it more about preference than anything else. The battery has 5+ years of warranty remaining.

Is there a disadvantage to buying a used EV? Take the Audi E Tron right now. This one is $39,000 with only 8k miles. It seems substantially less than the new model.
