You’re not going to be able to find any morning activities for this age, and going straight from school to tae kwon do is a killer.

If you decide that you don’t want activities and just want to take it easy, your mornings are quickly going to devolve into four hours of pajamas and television.

+1

My oldest 2 did half day K and I was a SAHM at the time- they did AM and it worked well. They were always up early anyway- and then home for lunch and chill-out time in the early afternoon before heading to activities (which tend to be in the after school late afternoon hours - swim lessons, gymnastics, tball etc).

AM also allows for naps if needed.

This is K. 5 year olds do not need naps.

My mom ran a small in home daycare when I was younger. I went to morning kindergarten and came home and took a nap after lunch like the rest of the daycare kids. Lol.

AM was always the coveted spot.

I'd choose AM because little kids are awake early anyway, and they tend to be tired in the afternoon. Or if you want to do story times and other classes, PP is right - they are usually in the morning.

I'd choose AM. Get the day started and have them learning while their minds are fresher. Afternoon for play.

I’d choose PM. I liked doing PM preschool with my kids, it was more relaxed in the mornings but my kids have always taken forever getting ready. If your kid is an early riser and ready to get out of the house in the morning, I’d probably choose AM.

AM

My kids were always up early at that age. And yes, some quiet time (even if they aren't napping) is good in the afternoon

I would do PM. I lot of kids classes like swim lessons for example are in the mornings.

If you live where there’s a lot of snow and delayed openings, you’ll miss a lot of a.m. days.

PM so you can relax in the morning.

(Yes, some public school districts still only offer half-day kindergarten.)

Which would you pick and why?
