Are you really getting 40-50 miles? Read somewhere that most PHEVs actually only give you 15-20 miles electric on one charge.

We do in warm weather (above 55), which typically means we charge every other night. In the winter it drops to close to 28-35 miles, but that includes blasting the heater, seats, etc. in winter we charge every night.

I follow the prime FB page and have never seen anyone report 15-20 miles on a full charge. Maybe in Canada in the dead of winter?

Bad idea. The infrastructure simply isn't there to support it (a quick fix on another car is going to cost you an outrageous amount of money on a Rivian due to lack of easy access to parts, etc).

The Y doors open regular. It's the X doors that open like wings.

My neighbor had the Y, now the X Plaid. He loves it. We've been in both, and the X felt much more solid.

The only drawback it seems to me is the way the back doors lift like wings. Basically, not tight spots for back doors.

If the back doors can open like regular doors, I would love to hear it.

I have a paid off Tesla model 3 and like the car, but we need a second car that’s larger. Already have level 2 charging installed at my house. Was thinking about buying a Model Y LR in cash, we would qualify for the $7500 tax credit by being just under the $300k/yr income cap. Comparing a brand new Model Y to a brand new Honda CRV, and factoring in cost difference, the Tesla is much more appealing to me.

Would anyone recommend something different?
