I have a high risk pregnancy for a different reason, but thanks to this forum ended up with Dr Pinckert (Rockville office) for my MFM. Thanks to him, I’m with Capital Women’s Care Rockville (right by Shady Grove) with Drs Gurdian, Spector, et al and very happy with this team so far.

I'm a PP, my MFM was Pinckert and I was with Capital Women's Care. Good luck getting to the point where you can deliver.

I don’t have a doctor rec but I have another very high risk condition and while it’s not common in this country (very common in others) you can request to be admitted to the hospital permanently until you deliver which if I had a partial placental abruption is absolutely what I would do. In an emergency you have seconds, not minutes (don’t ask me how I know).

This. My baby didn’t survive placental abruption. I know someone whose baby did, but only because mom happened to be in the hospital for something else. She was rushed to the OR for an emergency C-section. Baby was 8 weeks early, but alive, and spent weeks in the NICU…

In my subsequent pregnancy, my MFM said they’d send me to deliver immediately if anytime after 28 weeks, they didn’t like what they were seeing. I was monitored weekly and MFM decided on a scheduled c at 37 weeks because being pregnant longer was unnecessary risk and mental stress for me. I have a healthy second grader.

Dealing with placental abruption and I don’t really like my OB office. I feel like it’s really hard to get them to explain anything to me without having to really push. Any recommendations in DC or NOVA? Thank you.
