This was going to be my suggestion as well. My brothers all work in construction management and there's a lot of money to be made

Do you need any background in construction or architecture?

One was a builder in the Navy and the other went through a year long apprenticeship program. He is now in his early 30s and manages the building of massive skyscraper-esque buildings in downtown Chicago. He works 7am-3pm, picks his kids up from school, and loves it.

If you become an IT program manager and get a PMP certification you can make $150 with a contractor.

Contractors are basically self employed. You have to pay self employment taxes (around 10 to 12% of your income); you get no disability or unemployment insurance; you have to pay for your own healthcare.

Pros: your "employer" (you) can contribute money into your 401k, so you can get double dipping - your contribution + your "employer" contribution.

All that can add up to about 50% of your income (includes income tax, not just self employment income tax).

-long time self employed independent contractor.

Start a consulting business where small companies hire you to either manage their programs ad hoc or have you audit their current program management process.

I’m at a point in my life where I just want to make more money. What should I do next? Get an MBA? Switch the sales?

Any ideas would be helpful
