Chickpeas are so excellent for your gut biome, please keep eating them every day!
I highly recommend the dark chickpeas- I get them from Amazon, cook a batch and keep in my fridge so I can easily have some every day. The dark chana has a great texture and flavor so much better than regular chana.

Seems obvious that you are wasting your own time.

I wouldn't worry about the carbs, but if you're eating plain chickpeas for lunch every day it sounds like you could be shortchanging other key nutrients. Do more of the mixing them into a salad, or eating a bowl of chickpeas alongside other veggies/protein. Mix it up a little. Variety is good for you.

OP,
I chop some arugula and cut some cherry tomatoes in half and add this to my chickpeas. I then add oil vinegar salt and pepper. I eat this for breakfast about 5 days a week.
I was eating a lot of bacon and replaced the bacon with chickpeas as a healthier choice.
OP, I say go for it.

What do you mean they “cling to you.”
Like spike your glucose or some shit like that? I don’t think chickpeas are high on the glycemic index.
What does “cling to you” mean.

When I had gestational diabetes in pregnancy, I had to test my blood sugar before and after meals. Chickpeas made my blood sugar shoot up, even if I only had a quarter cup or so

Depends on how carb sensitive you are. This varies across individuals. For me, I need to moderate healthy complex carbs.

My friend who is a diabetic specialist focuses on glycemic index not carbs. I think it’s the glycemic index that’s really a killer for weight because of the way the body processes that food—it’s an easy measure of simple carbs.
Chickpeas are low Gi

Eh, I would cut back. While they aren’t bad, if you are eating a cup and a half, that is three servings of chickpeas. That isn’t very balanced. Try sticking with a half cup mixed into salad and some grilled chicken or other protein.

Complex carbs (such as chickpeas) good. Simple carbs bad.

You are not going to overdose on chickpeas.
The issue is refined carbohydrates. Avoiding those is a good idea. Avoiding chickpeas is not a suggested procedure.

Omg, just eat your chick peas. I honestly think some people think air is the only acceptable food. You need food, you need calories, even carbs and fat. Chick peas are healthy. Your stressing about them is not.

I love chickpeas. I always have but lately they really are my go-to daily lunch item. I just drizzle them with a little olive oil, salt and pepper and can eat them straight or sometimes mixed into a salad. But, how bad are the carbs from chickpeas? If I'm eating say a cupful or maybe cup and half of them for lunch, should I probably be limiting carbs elsewhere during the day? I'm in my mid-40s and carbs cling to me like there's no tomorrow and while i know chickpeas tend to be high in carbs, I try to tell myself they're the good kind of carbs. lol. But seriously--is it going overboard on carbs to eat these every day?
