Supplementing with progesterone can smooth out your moods. Also, try some vitamins: magnesium glycinate, ashwaganda, l theanine are all good for calming and balancing moods. Also, if you are even slightly deficient in vitamin B or vitamin D, it can really mess with your moods and emotional regulation. You might ask your doc to do bloodwork.

It’s perimenopause.

I'm 48. Finally started taking low dose SSRI this summer after resisting for 2 years. I'm now a much calmer person - things do roll off my back. When I miss the meds for a few days due to travel/sick, etc, I notice the moodiness bubbling up.

I had that starting around 46. LMP at 57. Self medicated with alcohol to calm down. Not recommending that. It's hormones.

Yes I am perimenopausal but don’t have too many symptoms. Almost 50.

It could be that you’re not happy. Even if nothing’s changed, you could now be unhappy with things as they are.

I have always been very easy going, things kind of just roll off my back. I am not usually very emotional or moody at all.

In the last few months I feel like an angsty teenager. I feel over sensitive to minor slights and a bit dramatic and immature in my reactions. I also feel moodier - down in the dumps over some minor thing or really irritated by some minor action.

I kind of feel like I have been transported back being 14. I feel like I have gone from an emotionally intelligent and mature person to being emotionally immature. Is this something to see a doctor about or just a normal part of ageing. Next thing I know I will be getting in trouble for rolling my eyes and talking back!
