We are going to give Equip a try as they accept our insurance. Does anyone have experience working with them?

I'm an ED therapist (out of state). Without knowing details about your specific situation, I'd suggest finding a therapist who uses evidence based treatment. For children with anorexia, the gold standard is Family Based Treatment. There are other evidence based treatments for bulimia and ARFID. We do not accept insurance, but many families request a super bill and submit to their insurance for some reimbursement. Some ED practices have fellows who have a reduced fee. I'd also suggest EQUIP and FEAST. Also, some practices conduct studies (we are running an intensive multi-family group free of cost) so you may be able to find treatment through that as well.

This. In the word of SN or eating disorders , you need to get used to the fact that your insurance plan won't cover much of the treatments you need

The options here are slim. I have taken my child to some doozies.

This. A lot of providers in this space are private pay only, unfortunately

PP, coming back to say this is also a place to look:

FEAST.org has a lot of resources.

You can look into Equip - their program is virtual.

Good luck!
