What is unweighted and is it public or private? 4.5 weighted from MCPS would be way too low for NU.

My husband’s theory is that kids they know are first choice/will accept they defer and use early round to catch other high achievers that might go to an Ivy or elsewhere.

My kid was deferred after bari ally being told by HS, AO etc he was a shoe in. He expressly stated love for school, connection and first choice.

Some schools accept less or the same #s early round. It’s plausible.

DD is deferred. Seems like there is a lot of this going on this cycle.

Deferrals stink-false hope-only about 10% ever get in through RD.

Why give a kid a decision when you can keep them in suspense until May.

Everyone we know who applied ED was either accepted or deferred.
Do not know anyone rejected.
