I am really confused as to why you would buy a gift card for this.

Um, if he’s going on the date night with you, why do you need a gift card?
What about one of the Jose Andres restaurants? Different from what most people would cook themselves at home — but not too challenging for basic eaters. Or what about Joy in Chevy Chase? (They’re justly proud of the short rib.)

Just go with a restaurant group. Think Food Group or Knightsbridge are always good bets

Looking to buy for my husband for date night. His culinary tastes are pretty basic so nothing too spicy/ethnic but not a chain or a touristy place but a bit more upscale than the routine restaurant.
