The neighborly thing to do is to inform the neighbor that you are having construction done and the cars and trucks might be parked in front of the neighbors' home, not driveway. This is especially important when the work will take more than 1 day.

So, it's important to at least say hi to the neighbors if you are anti social.

So, if the neighbor did not inform you ahead of time, oh well, you can still go chat and ask how long the work will be. 4 days? 4 weeks? That's a big difference.

What I don't get is neighbors that don't have a car and rarely get visitors and still annoyed that you temporarily park in front of their house that is not in the driveway.

You're getting the snarky blowback I expected you'd get when I read the post. I won't be snarky since I get it; it's a pain if you park on the street yourself and for week after week there are no spaces there. But it's only that, a pain in the backside, and it's temporary, OP. These are contractors. Their vehicles will be gone once the work is done. Plus, you have a driveway, too, right? So likely this isn't affecting your ability to park your car, it's just a temporary nuisance.

Imagine living in her house right now with a ton of random workers coming and going and possibly rooms torn up and unliveable. That's worse than just dealing with contractor parking for a while.

Nope, no law against that. It is a public street and anyone can park there. Do you think people who live in big cities only park in front of their own houses?

I get that it is annoying and admit that I don't like it either, but it is what it is and the price we pay for having neighbors. Sounds like it will be a temporary situation for you.
