Are all these medicines injectables?

I have Wegovy covered with fepblue, due to BMI and a related co-morbidity (high cholesterol). I was prescribed it by my regular doctor, after I tried several statins for the cholesterol with varying intolerable side effects.

This isn’t true, I’m on Ozempic. My a1c was 6.1. It’s not like “diabetes” is some binary switch for type 2s.

I get Ozempic from my PCP. It’s not covered, I pay cash. It’s dumb but I thought I would just try it. It’s been a complete life changer, so I’m willing to pay for it. Hopefully I can maintain on a low dose which helps a little with cost. I would happily switch to compounded if I felt like I could safely navigate but obviously the pharma companies are powerful and keep that system murky and scary.

I'm a Fed. In January I made an appointment with a medical weight loss clinic, but the wait for appointments was very long. I had an obese BMI and a long history re: weight loss and regain, but my PCP would not prescribe or order any bloodwork.

So while I waited for the clinic, I signed up with Calibrate. They ordered blood work, and put me on Metformin and then Ozempic. I lost weight on Ozempic until I could transfer over to the weight loss clinic, which switched me to Wegovy. I think it would be different today because insurance is tightening up on Ozempic.

I have seen many many terrible reviews of Calibrate. But, personally it worked fine for me. I paid once for the year so I continue to meet with my coach every other week, in addition to periodically going to the clinic. I've lost 30 lbs in 9 months and I like this slow steady weight loss.

If you are a fed, all insurers are required to cover at least one of the glp drugs for weight loss. Just go to your PCP if you are overweight. I have GEHA and it is $200.

No offense but it’s obvious. You can tell when someone who has never ever been skinny suddenly is out of nowhere. Look at all the celebrities you see who have always been bigger - Oprah, Kelly Clarkson, etc - who are now tiny. It’s clear.

I got it through my doctor (NP actually). Compounded semaglutide although I’ve also gotten prescription Ozempic. It’s $500/month for the compound, $1000 through Amazon pharmacy when it’s available. My insurance doesn’t cover it - I was overweight and pre diabetic but that wasn’t enough.

Well, unless they are diabetic-they are not getting Ozempic. They MAY be getting Wegovy, which is approved for weight loss.

I have Wegovy covered with fepblue, due to BMI and a related co-morbidity (high cholesterol). I was prescribed it by my regular doctor, after I tried several statins for the cholesterol with varying intolerable side effects.

Med spa — getting semaglutide, not brand name. About $300/month. Not covered.

It seems like everyone is on this these days. Several women at my work (fed agency) are suddenly super skinny but I don’t know them well enough to ask details about how they went about getting the drug. So I have to ask-if you’re taking this or something like it for weight loss, how did you get it? Did your PCP prescribe? Did you go through online telehealth or a med spa? Is insurance covering it? How is this so accessible and where is everyone getting this?? I may want to jump on board but want to see if fepblue will cover.
