Thing about the NoVA area, it may be top 99% in the country, but may only be top 94% in NoVA.
It might not be a shoo-in/automatically in pool score depending on your school but it’s certainly VERY close and a good teacher form and work samples can more than make up for it.
And besides, even if it’s “only” top 6%, isn’t the top 10% in pool at every school?
