It might not be a shoo-in/automatically in pool score depending on your school but it’s certainly VERY close and a good teacher form and work samples can more than make up for it.
And besides, even if it’s “only” top 6%, isn’t the top 10% in pool at every school?

How is it not the 99th percentile? Most kids don’t do test prep beyond what the teacher gives in school. Most kids nationwide are in mediocre at best public schools. Now if you’re in a particularly competitive school/pyramid where there are a lot of kids getting a 135+, maybe your kid doesn’t look quite as good. But if this decision cycle is anything like in past years, the teacher recommendations/GBRS/HOPE scores/whatever they’re calling it these days will reign supreme anyway.
