Well, considering the cost of attendance is $81K, $84K if you include the health care fees, then no. Holy cross is just offering discounts off the purchase price.
If that discount drops the COA down to $37k or even $49.5k that makes a huge difference though.
"If" . . . it will turn on the FAFSA. We received nothing in merit and nothing in financial aid.

I’ve been in charge of interns from Holy Cross, and they were kids who were richly supported by their school and went on to have good careers in a competitive industry.
My impression is that the school gives great value per student dollar spent.

I didn't know that about the recent donations geared towards student aid. I grew up in Worcester and am quite familiar with Holy Cross. Their alumni network is known to be really effective, and you get a high-quality liberal arts education there from which you can branch into numerous areas. It's strictly an undergraduate institution, and it seems particularly good at preparing people for post-baccalaureate professional degrees.
As far as the city itself, it's evolved quite a bit in the past decade especially. The campus has always been a bit isolated from the city, being on one of the city's seven hills (Mt. St. James, aka College Hill, fka Pakachoag Hill). But with Uber and Lyft, along with buses and cabs, it's easier to get around the city without a car if you so desire. Downtown especially has been in a revitalization process that includes among other things the Worcester Red Sox Triple-A team playing since 2020 at Polar Park.

Perhaps my information is old but had 2 kids apply to College of Holy Cross in the past 6 years and all we were offered from them upon acceptance was lots of loans from the school. HHI at the time around $230 with four kids, two in college at the same time.

Yeah, Holy Cross does not make clear what is or is not financial aid at the higher income levels. If they are giving merit to most donut hole families not qualifying for financial aid, they need to say so.

My husband is very quick to latch onto these stats, but remember most Americans can't cover an unexpected medical issue. Most Americans can't cover a $400 expense.
Is this people making 150K? Well, I bet they can cover the 400 expense, but most don't have 6 months of savings.
IOW, if you're a person who makes 150k and also have more than the *typical assets of 200k, you're that 4%.
IOW, that 10% of people who don't get offered a grant at 200k? Those are you and your neighbors.
