Optavia and some collagen thing seem to still be going strong based on my FB feed (and, yes, I mute as needed).

Sure. But why don't they just do a direct sales website like all the legit businesses out there? If the products are good, and the model sustainable, they don't need all these "reps" selling crap to their friends.

I agree with OP that the fervor seems to have died down.

What are your dumb friends burning money on for "business ventures" these days? Crypto is mainly a male thing, while MLM mainly female, so I don't think those are are true alternatives to each other.

Anytime I see someone on my Facebook start to VagueBook about some exciting announcement or something new they are trying (but DM me for info!) I immediately mute them. I keep doing that until they stop posting about their dumb weight loss program that is essentially Slim Fast or whatever nonsense it is now.

Definitely not. But the main issue with MLMs is that you can not keeping growing exponentially. So I'd think the market for recruiting people underneath you to move you up the line is probably running dry. Now there are so many new ones, people do keep clearly signing up for terrible, stupid products. But I think less people are getting scammed into "selling" these products as a Boss Babe.

Stella & Dot “revamped their business model” and no longer follow the home based party/MLM thing.

I’m not on social media and still have been invited to many pampered chef, Rodan + fields and Silpada parties. (Not recently). I find it hard to believe you’ve never heard of any of them.

I feel like I don't hear as much about MLMs these days. 5-10 years ago it seemed like they were much more common/spoken about -- both by the people participating in them and the detractors making fun of the "boss babes." But now I rarely hear about them from either "side." Have MLMs died down? People finally realize they're stupid?
