It's also ok for a girl not to share that info, same as she could decide to share or not share with anyone that she has a headache, she can't swim, dairy gives her a stomachache, or what size she wears.

Anything else is maybe inappropriate, but not criminal. Propriety: each family chooses their own battles. If your child said to a boy: "Leave me alone, I'm PMS-ing", I'd laugh.
