You are not alone, OP. I could have written this myself, and am highly irritated as my pelvic floor is impacted as well. Hopefully it ends soon!

I was diagnosed with asthma at age 37 when I just couldn’t stop coughing hard after a bad chest cold. I was surprised by the diagnosis, but the pulmonologist said you can be diagnosed at any age. I’m not saying you have asthma, but I do think it’s worth seeing a pulmonologist.

Same! I had a cough (non productive) for months. Started having pee issues. Just got over it and I got norovirus. Every time I vomited I peed myself. What the heck? I thought I had a strong pelvic floor. I didn’t even sniss. I do lots of kegels. I wish I knew what was going on.

OP, do you use a CPAP machine? Are you putting water in your reservoir? I had exactly your symptoms (down to the stress incontinence) and it turned out that I had dry mucosa due to NOT putting water in the reservoir (the clinician who gave me the machine told me not to use it - sigh). good luck

OP here. I was on a bunch of stuff and I have no history of asthma. It seemed like the oral steroids made the most improvement. I honestly wasn’t sure if the inhalers helped or not because I was trying so many things.

This happened to me about 5 years ago. Everyone in the house got sick, but I stayed sick for 3+ months. I eventually saw a pulmonologist, who tested me for asthma. No asthma. Then he said to see an allergist.

I saw an allergist and was allergic to everything they tested me for. They put me on something for allergies, which helped a little. They recommended allergy shots but I didn’t have time to commit. Eventually the cough went away, but it was miserable. Sorry, OP.

I work at PM Pediatrics and like 75% of the patients I saw last week had the chief complaint of “my child has been coughing for a month / two months/ etc”. All their lungs sounded fine.

The other 25% had the flu. So, get ready to have the flu over Christmas, everyone!

So let me get this straight. You took the inhaled steroid. Then it got better. So you stopped the inhaled steroid. And now you’re coughing again? Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

I’ve been coughing for two months. I’ve been to urgent care twice and the er once. No one seems to be concerned about it. I sound like an old smoker.

OP here. Yes. I have albuterol and a Flovent alternative…insurance didn’t cover Flovent. I did not keep taking the inhaled steroid after it seemed to get better. I started again tonight. I’ve never been diagnosed with asthma although I am a former smoker (haven’t smoked in 18 years though). Maybe I should have continued the inhaler. I’m so tired of this.

Do you have an inhaler. If not you should get one.

Had that and my doc gave me an inhaler and some codine cough syrup. Cleared it up in a few days.

Just this. DH and DC and I all got sick about 2 1/2 months ago. Not covid. They got better in a week but I have been coughing for 2 1/2 months. I’ve tried everything from antibiotics to steroids to all over the counter meds. I had a chest xray and it was clear. It’s gotten better, but it’s still there, and all this coughing is really taking a toll on my pelvic floor, if you know what I mean. I don’t know if I should go see a pulmonologist or if this is just going to resolve eventually. Dr. Google says sometimes coughs just persist.
