My company is offering generous hybrid in their job ads. We hire people then first week is in person training.

Second week told in person first 90 days during probation.

Then after 90 days it is up to manager and HR approval.

Trouble I find with it we have a lot of people at work who are in person four days a week are not interested in virtual meetings when in person, I know I don’t.

I can work from home 4 days per week and I absolutely love it. I go into the office once, sometimes twice a week. It's perfect.

I'm in charge of implementing our policies and while I love, love, love our super flexible policies, there is a segment of the population who is missing out on face time with their managers. Our early career folks are in the office far more than is required and they are craving face time with their managers. They want face time but they do not want to give up the flexibility. To me it's all about flexibility and managers doing their jobs. If we can have those two things, we will be in great shape.

Most people I know are still fully remote.

You mean the article didn’t survey you! Don’t take everything personally. Glad you’re one-upping the system, but your personal situation has nothing to do with the average worker’s situation.

PP here and that's an unnecessarily aggressive response that doesn't address my point. Just saying there are people like me classified as hybrid for stats when in reality we don't go in that often.

I was WFH 2 days a week even before the pandemic.

4 days a week in office isnt "hybrid" in any meaningful sense. No thanks.

IMO this is the best. Remote if you want it, in office if you want it, hybrid however works best for you. This was my old policy which was great, I'd go in and get "in office" stuff accomplished, and could do the rest of my job remotely. Now it's 2 day/week in office, and I hate it.

I hate hybrid. Cant live far enough to have lower cost of living. Go in to the office and feel useless

You sound bitter.

As a different average worker, I will be going fully remote. Article didn't survey me either, but this option does exist for some of us.

Hot off the presses a CNBC article reporting on a new EY study. Basically, the overwhelming number of businesses are requiring 3 DOW in-office, but many require more. 5DOW in-office is dead, but so is full-time remote for most positions.
