PP is right. Men get married because they want access to sex without having to put in any effort. They also want someone to help with household things and to care for their kids. Men who are widowed often remarry right away because they can’t handle being alone.

I'm married and been married a long time. I don't know why anyone would get married anymore. Things now are not like they were decades ago.

I'm sorry that you're unable to attract a net positive woman. And that you see caring about your mutual kids as a bad thing. Perhaps those issues are connected?

If I had to do it over again I probably wouldn't get married. My spouse is a decent person, I just prefer being alone and not having to share space with someone. I think I felt like getting married was something people were supposed to do and that kinda pushed me into it.

That's what I'm thinking too. I'm 45, divorced with two kids, and very well off financially. I love having my space to myself and my kids (they are with their dad 50% of the time). Not sure what marriage would help me with?
