Generally people seem to have good things to say about both. My unqualified opinion based on reading threads on this topic over the years and have a now freshman who went through LJ is that the LJ program is stronger academically. I guess I just wonder how much. My son wants to go to Thoreau and I am not inclined to force him to go to LJ against his wishes. I am just struggling with the idea of him passing up what I *think* is a stronger program.
Hit submit too soon. I do not think stronger academics should be the only deciding factor. I just hate to pass up what I know is a great program.
This was a few years ago, but my older kid “passed up” AAP at LJ in favor of Thoreau and I have no regrets. DC did well in HS and is excelling in college. I only know one of DCs classmates who chose LJ over TMS, and the goal was to get into TJ (which did happen, but this kid would have been competitive from any MS, IMO). College outcomes were similar for all of DCs peer group, regardless of their MS/HS path.

Use the search function. There are extensive posts on this within the last year or two even.
I have searched and mostly people are talking about their experience at one school. My family already has experience at one school and we have a second kid wanting to choose the other school. I have not found people who said they had a kid at each though I know such people must exist.
