Subscribing to emails and following on Instagram will have no impact, either way

+1. Stop the madness.

It looks too results focused instead of developing as a student.

Unless it’s a slac, likely not tracking interest anyway. That seems to have ended with the test optional onslaught of applications.

Our student didn't start showing demonstrated interest until 10th grade. But to answer your question, I don't think there is a downside, aside from the time and effort your student puts in. Not all colleges use demonstrated interest and I'm guessing they only start caring when you combine the interest with visits and other more interactive activities.
