I actually saw a story the other day about couples who have weddings but don’t register marriage paperwork with legal authorities, intentionally.
There are certain legal advantages to remaining unmarried, but having the wedding ceremony feeds the familial and cultural expectations.

What does "not registered married" mean? Where would you even go to look for this?
If she changed her name, she needed legal paperwork to accomplish this. I think it's very likely you are mistaken.

As the "married couple" if anyone told me this, my immediate reaction would be that you are creepy for even digging for this info. Forget about their marital status, what on earth made you research this? It was not an accidental find, you were looking for it. Mind your own damn business!

1 year ago we went to a wedding. Distant relatives technically but close.
They are not registered married. Yes I need to mind my business.
Religiously it counts cause it was in a church. And I know legally it counts if the wedded couple didn’t know.
But the bride is very traditional. Very very traditional. She has always wanted to be a wife etc. I just know something has had to have happened with the paperwork. Like they forget to send it in or I think the priest is supposed to do it?
If someone who knew that I wasn’t legally married knew and didn’t tell my I would be hurt. I know this isn’t a problem really but trust me this is a mistake.
I mean wouldn’t you want to know?
