As a pediatric therapist, I have been gifted everything from cards to chocolates and wine to bags of coffee to envelopes of cash. Truly anything is appreciated but not necessary.

I’m a therapist. I would feel uncomfortable getting a gift. A card would be fine, or maybe something edible.

If it's a seasoned therapist who charges a fortune, I don't do a gift, but might have my child write a sweet holiday note. I am pretty sure I helped put one therapists kid through college and she drove a very fancy car, she does not need a gift card.

If it's a therapist who takes insurance and is good, might do a gift card and than you note.

Through the schools, I only gave a gift if the person was good.

I wouldn’t OP. A note is enough. We have enough on our plates as is. If you really want to support your therapist, send a nice email to their boss about their performance.

Op here, thank you for the responses so far. I'm glad to know that something made by my child might be more appreciated. The therapists are excellent and I'm so grateful for all of their work but I wasn't sure what would be best.

I’m a ST and have gotten gift cards. I NEVER expect anything but it’s appreciated. Honestly, a note from the kid (even if it’s a scribble from a 2 year old) is the best.

A picture of the kid is best followed by a homemade ornament that the kids made imo. 25 years from now they won’t remember a gift card but they’ll think of your child when they see that picture or hang an ornament.

Do you give your child's therapists a gift for the holidays? I'd like to give something to our OT and ST but for some reason I feel strange giving money or a gift card. If you do give gifts, what are they? Thanks for any ideas!
