Subject: Would you reach out to your SIL on husband's side if you knew she was having marital issues?
In what way is she struggling? If it’s something you can help with then offer. (Like watch the kids or something).

If you arent close I think it would look nosy, rather than helpful. Id encourage him to talk to her, invite her over, etc and bring it up in person if you see her though.

Apparently my SIL's marriage is blowing up in a big way. We knew this was coming for years but I guess he moved out three weeks ago, which my MIL told us at Thanksgiving (SIL was elsewhere). DH has been texting with her a bit. Should I reach out separately to say sorry or something? We've never been close per se, but I also feel funny just ignoring it, because apparently she's really struggling. Or would it be inappropriate?
