Rec Center (FCPA) or Reston Association. FCPA also offers different camps at same location (e.g., Cub Run), which is helpful if the kids have different interests or are in different age groups (although you should have no problem finding camps that both a 3rd and 5th grader can attend). SACC and RecPac are additional options (more general camps/childcare).

Finally, Taekwondo places would have camps in that range.

lol, nope. Just a parent who has sent their child the last two years and been happy. But, if it makes you feel good about yourself to think that a parent who has been happy with a local camp wouldn't log into their account to check availability for someone new to the area looking for an affordable summer camp, ok. Says more about you than me.

My son attended and then was a counselor at the Reston National golf camp. Lunch is provided, which he always loved. I think it's well run and lots of time outside.

I think summer SACC is in that price range.

Check the Y’s camps, I am not sure on the pricing but they are normally on the less expensive side and the camps are at the Y itself, Dogwood Elementary, and Lake Fairfax type area. They also include early drop off and late pick up. We found them to be less engaging then other camps but friends who need longer coverage love them for the cost and locations.

We use Fairfax Park and Rec camps a lot. You can down load their spreadsheet of all camps from their website and then sort it. We start by sorting for location, then group by date and take a look at what is available. There are camps at Lake Fairfax and various schools in the area. You should be able to find a good number. The splash and something camp at Lake Fairfax is the one that fills up really fast. The kids spend 2-4 hours at the Watermine each day. It is a good time, send lots of water and sunscreen.

Reston Association runs day camps that are really well run. They have a standard day camp but also specialty camps. Our son enjoyed Sportsters a lot. I know families whose kids really liked the art options. The RA camps are a but more expensive but drop off and pick up is well run and DS always had a good experience with the camps. He out grew wanting to do the regular summer camp and so we branched out a bit more. You also have to pay for early drop off and late pick up.

I would guess that Herndon Community Center has some camps but we have not looked there.

OTA (Overtime Athletics) does a summer camp at many elementary schools. I know Lees Corner ES is one of the sites. It’s very affordable and it’s fun sports, games, etc. Nothing fancy but lots of kids like it, especially if they have friends there.

New to the area and I know we'll have to start thinking about summer camp in a few months - does anyone have any recommendations? We live in Oak Hill, so we're open to anything within 10-15 minutes like Reston, Herndon, Chantilly, Oakton, Fair Oaks/Fairfax. 3rd and 5th graders who would like to be in camp together (I know some camps stop at 10). Prefer closer to $300/week than $500
