I don’t have ideas for a specific gift, but I think it might be nice if you accompanied whatever gift you select with a letter talking about some of the things (both big and little) that she’s done over the years and how much they meant to you.

Since she’s a recent newlywed homeowner and likes to cook, how about a GC to Williams-Sonoma or Crate & Barrel?

A Gift card to a place she frequently shops at or a necklace with an angel pendent along with a gift receipt to return or exchange.

The question is what does she like. I wouldn't like most of those things but I'd love something like a gift card to TJ Max/Home Goods/Marshalls.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. I do think she'd love jewelry or a massage gift certificate. The trick with the gift certificate is that she has her favorite places she goes, so I'd have to get some info to get them for the right place. I could also do the le creuset, but she was recently married and bought a home, so I'd have to make sure she doesn't already have the select item. It's a good suggestion though because she enjoys cooking.

(We have done much for a certain family member, but all she does is try to badmouth us - pretty sure people are smart enough to catch on to her crusade.)
