We would love it since it means time away from the iPad. Ageee lots of parents are working- could you provide transportation to those who need? (Or even say, we’ll be happy to drive to/from your house?) But we have a lot of friends who go skiing on those weekends who would be out of town.
My general theory on birthday parties - ask the two friends your kid most wants there. If they can do it at least you know the birthday kid will have their besties around.

Yes but a lot of people are out of town.

Wouldn’t it wreck your day on a Sat or Sun too then with that logic?
Heaven forbid you take your kid to a 2 hour bday party for a friend.

No, bc I’m not working and all the kids have activities on weekends. A weekday holiday is much different.

Maybe but remember not all parents are off and it would depend on if it conflicted with someone else.

Thank you for making me laugh tonight!

Yes we would.
Even if we were at work we are paying someone to watch our kid, either a sitter or Grandpa.either way, kid could attend a party.

I have not had it off every year so sometimes my kids were in daycare on Presidents Day. If I was off then I would bring them. If not, it wouldn’t be worth the hassle of coordinating rides and other people dropping or picking up since I was working. DH is never off on those days. I am usually off on MLK.

Not everyone will have parents that are off that day. My DH is a fed, but I'm not, and I don't get most of these federal holidays off. So, if the party was on one of those Mondays, likely that our child wouldn't be able to attend (DH doesn't do parties, unfortunately).

We are usually in town, so I’d likely say yes if DH can be home with other kids (or if the hosts make it clear siblings are welcome). Sometimes DH works holiday Mondays.

I often do that for my son’s bday. A friend or two will be OOT but everyone else is happy for something to do that day.

Would you go to a K birthday party (indoor party venue) on a federal holiday, let's say Monday MLK or President's Day?
