Equity as in share price, yeah. More economically efficient to not route salary to university administrators.

I actually think it would be better to make K-12 education better; not everyone is going to be served by a college degree and a good high school education will make somebody an educated person.

Think about the hs kids who went away to college, vs those who only attended community college or who never went. Put them both in a boardroom. Who wins?

Gen Z is already seeing the poor ROI on a degree and student debt and skipping it. The culture is already dramatically shifting. A good thing, IMO.

I'm one of those who has a lot of experience, got my degree later in life but without the work ethic I have I would have never advanced as far as I did without a degree. It is the work ethic and then knowledge that get things done.

It seems like a return to previous generations, to some degree.

My dad was the head of a state's telecom agency and he did not have a degree. He had years of experience.

The real question is...can people get that experience any more without a degree?

I don't think it will dramatically shift the US culture of valuing a college degree anytime soon. In a million ways, college experiences create an advantage for those who attend over those who don't. Good. The purpose of a degree is not to get a job, they purpose of a degree is to learn, become more educated. It is not for everyone or even the majority.
