If it’s a restaurant with courses or a lengthy menu, I ask for a paper menu. If it’s sort — like just choosing pizza toppings, a QR code is fine.

I’m flexible. No big deal either way.

I always ask for a physical menu.

It sounds like I'm the only one who likes the QR code. Especially at a place like Bartaco in Mosaic where I can order everything on my phone and pay on my phone. No waiting for the server to come take the order, no waiting for the check. I can customize anything I want. Super convenient.

My boomer DH insists on a paper menu.

We were just at a restaurant last night and had this problem. The waitress offered to bring a real menu but we didn’t want to cause a fuss because it was a busy night.

The QR menu was so stupid. We only had one phone between the 3 of us because my DD is too young for one and I left mine at home. Every category (drinks, cocktails, entrees, etc) had a separate tab, so it took forever for the 3 of us to click back and forth in each category and then pass the phone around. By the end, we vowed to always ask for the real menu. It was a tedious waste of our time- we were at a restaurant to spend time together, not huddle around like we were getting late-night takeout.

+100

That is a dumb thing to get all huffy about and leave.

It really sucks when you have someone elderly in your party and you have to read the menu to them.

If I have to scan a QR code I will just leave and find another restaurant

I know there is a restaurant forum; but for fun and more responses maybe:

Do you scan a QR code or ask for a menu.

We don’t take out our phones for a meal and ask for a menu and have been known to leave if one is not available.

What say you?
