Unexcused absences mean a kid can’t make up the with for full credit. Matters in high school, at least.

I doubt there is a maximum. I had a student who missed more than 100 days of school and still passed. I regularly have kids miss 50+ days each year and pass. All unexcused absences.

That's because your mileage may vary within MCPS based on how much your admin cares about attendance and chronic absenteeism, and/or based on how active and competent your school's attendance secretary is.

That's because your mileage may vary within MCPS based on how much your admin cares about attendance and chronic absenteeism, and/or based on how active and competent your school's attendance secretary is.

I think attendance only really counts in messy custody battles. If you are the current custodial parent and the kid has lots of unexcused absences - that can be held against you.
