this- would immediately get rid of dock a tot (and gave away all sorts of hand me down that are considered unsafe now like the bumbo seat or not flat bassinets). whatever you get- get a gift receipt so they can return it. loved our baby bjorn bouncer- also like our nugget and pbk chair

You clearly don’t work in a profession where it’s common to give nice gifts. I work in finance, and it’s very common to give baby gifts of $250 or even more. A 5 minute story book that’s $7 at BJ's would be embarrassing.

You are all missing the brief here. If OP and her DH are expected to spend $250 on a coworker they barely know, it means everyone involved is high level and wealthy. So they don’t want or need your Nose Frida or Pottery Barn stuff.

Nose Frida and other infant meds. When they need it they won’t want to run to cvs. Put it in a cute basket with a blanket.

Little Giraffe baby blanket and one or two cute outfits for 3-6 or 6-12 months age ranges. Can get all this from nordstroms

Can you get them a service, like a house cleaning or a week of a private chef? That seems like a lot to spend on a thing or things that they may not want/need.

I need to purchase a baby gift for someone who doesn’t have a registry and I don’t know personally (business associate of DH) What are some of the more desired baby items these days? I’m looking for a thoughtful gift for about $250 and not cash/GC. Thanks for any suggestions!
