Either call bus services or a friend with older students who go to either school. IME, the center bus stops are earlier since they have to go a greater distance and pick up from more neighborhoods. My DC who went to the center had a 6:25 bus stop and my DC who went to the local school was at 6:45. This will of course vary depending on whether you are at the beginning or the end of the route.

You should be able to contact the bus service office to ask about what is happening this year for your address and those schools.

Subject: Considering bus feasibility to choose between base & center?
DC is 6th grade. We are wondering how the school bus works (bus stop, time), and that may affect our choice of school, Jackson middle or Thoreau middle.
Does anyone know as to around when the school information session occurs, or when the bus stop/time information becomes available for both schools. We see that Jackson middle has AAP showcase event this week, which is great, but we are also interested in some official information session by FCPS explaining Thoreau vs. Jackson including bus service. Or, there would be no such info session?
