Funny to see this because DH and I just had this talk last weekend. BIL, SIL, and their 2 kids were in for the holiday. SIL and I took the 2 older kids out for the day and DH, BIL, and our toddler and their toddler stayed home. When we got back, their toddler was napping in our toddlers crib and I asked DH if he changed the sheets for him and he stared at me and said "....for a baby?"

This ended up being a nonissue because it turned out someone else had already changed the sheets.

But I can't figure out how washing a blanket is easier than washing sheets. Sheets take up a lot less room in a load!

I think it would be a nice gesture if you can do it quickly but if it’s at all disruptive I’d just say nothing. Don’t sweat it.

I would change them but I would also understand if you didnt. If its a friend you can ask what they prefer and leave the sheets for them to do it if they wish.

They can sleep on top of sheets with a blanket. That’s how ours naps at home. They don’t get in bed like at night- if that makes sense.

+1 My toddler regularly sleeps on the floor by choice. Sheets slept in one are fine.

I wouldn’t leave the sheets for an adult guest, so wondering if the etiquette is different here.

OP here,

I realize that the obvious solution here would have been to change the sheets before the guests arrive, but I didn’t actually know the toddler was coming before nap.

I feel like the covers are likely dirtier than sheets that have been slept in once.

I’d probably change the sheets if I was hosting.. if I was toddler parent thoigh I’d probably have my kid sleep on the covers with a blanket….

Do you change the sheets for them?

Toddler is just here for the day, not spending the night. Sheets got changed yesterday but slept in last night.

Happy to change but wondering if it makes me look neurotic.
