What company? How were the trips advertised?

My understanding is that it’s similar to beach week- parents arranging things for their kids outside of the school’s involvement

Friends went to the trip my senior year; I didn't because I'm more of a beach person. Happens every year and it's privately organized. Not endorsed by B-CC.

I self organized one of these trips in high school. Our chaperones were 21. I still can’t believe we pulled it off. I’m not sure how many people actually went skiing but there was a ton of alcohol consumed. We left from Massachusetts so not as far, but still.

I think education is the only field where professionals who travel for work are described as getting a "free trip".

Jealous parents.

What is there to be jealous about? Anyone can organize these trips. They are pricy for what they are and not worth it.

And yet many kids love them and many families are delighted to figure out how to make it work for their child.

You sound like you ate a bunch of sour grapes.

Same with Churchill. It is not sponsored by the school, but it is for all seniors at the school.

Not at BCC, but another nearby MCPS HS, and we have a similar trip. It's not a school trip, it's a private org running the trip that many from the HS attend

Does anyone know anything about a ski trip to Quebec that is run by/endorsed by B-CC? DD mentioned to me that some seniors were talking about how they were signed up for the “school ski trip” and recalls some students going to Canada last year, but was under the impression that the trip was independent from school.
