Unless the child wants a job for pocket money, or the family needs the extra income, it doesn't help for resume-building.

14 is really hard. My kids started working full time during the summer at 15 and that even took a lot of effort (they probably went in person to 25 places to get one offer). 16 is when everyone is eager to hire a teen.

None. He volunteered at a nature summer camp since most employers won’t hire kids under 16.
